SNL - Sweaty balls

AeroMechanicalsays...

Yep. It's time to cancel this show. It's a real shame, but it's insulting to the genius of the earlier years that they should be associated with this.

Writer #1: I have an idea: Let's base an entire skit on puns, childish puns. I saw it on South Park, Private Parts, and a bunch of other shows. They're doing okay.

Writer #2: Yeah, fine. Whatever...

Wrtier #1: Trust me, it'll slay them on the internet.

(I did get a chuckle out of it though, to be fair. It was well executed, I just want more from SNL than standard gags... it would be okay as a line or two in a skit, but they keep stretching one funny, but small idea into an entire skit and it's getting weak)

honestly, they would have done this same skit in the early days if they could have gotten away with it. It's base, it's low brow, but it's SNL tradition. However, it's rare that anything funny comes out of snl these days, so it may be time.

part of why this is so funny is if you've ever listened to those NPR shows, the women's impression is dead-on. The pun is funny, yes, but it wouldn't be half as hilarious without those two ladies piling on the irony. THAT is what made me laugh. Usually low-brow puns don't get a chuckle out of me.
