Rubens Tube Experiments

A neat video involving sound, gas filled tubes and fire!

Vimeo: When sound is introduced to a gas filled tube, it pushes out more of the gas where the wave peaks, resulting in a sound wave of fire.

The video demonstrates how the Ruben’s tube responded to different sound inputs: iPod, microphone and guitar and with a circular shaped tube.
