After a short hiatus, Parks and Recreation returns to television Thursday—but don't tell Rob Lowe. In this (slightly NSFW) Funny or Die sketch, the cast of Parks & Recreation react to coming back to television and Rob Lowe throws a tantrum trying to figure out how people have survived for five months without seeing his beautiful face.

Although this is fantastic vial material! it really detracts from the "rality" of the show, that being said, I do not watch the show so I do not know if they have a format where they are aware they are on a screen, but then I say that and I start to wonder how this can be a good show if it just mimicks other show formats....

I should stop thinking before all mainstream tv just seems like its all the same..

Hrmm, then again I could take the aspect that WE as the viewers realize it is "fake" and succumb to the desired effect that the television is more or less a viewing vessel, that which is no more akin to a student leaving a camcorder in the lecture hall. We view the show through the television expecting that it follows a staged performance, that which is like sitting in a theatre watching actors on stage, clearly knowing they are on stage, but breaking character to tell the audience they are back at a certain date.

Neat! It's fun seeing a cast go all NSFW on the intarweb.

I dont know what I was talking about before. I have watched the show like it was Heroin for a bit now. This is great stuff.
