An amazing performance from the first season of The Wire. Johnny is required to attend a Narcotics Anonymous session and Bubs comes along. During the meeting Walon talks about his own experience with drugs. At the time the performance gave me goose bumps and I did not find out until later that Walon is played by one of my favorite artists, alt-country man Steve Earle. Earle has battled his own demons with drugs and addiction and that comes through in his honest performance.
