Since 2009-2010 is going to be another El Niño year, I thought I'd pose the question: Is Southern Oscillation more intense because of global warming? I've heard meteorologists from California blaming this year's strange weather patterns on global warming, but failing to mention El Niño. I've also heard many meteorologists vehemently emphasize that this weather is normal for El Niño, and that it has no relationship to global warming. If the latter is true, I say: I don't care how much you want to prove global warming to the crazy people who deny that climate change is happening, don't use normal weather patterns as a way to convince/frighten your viewers.
