Never Before Seen Footage of Secret Mormon Temple Rituals

Boise_Libsays...

Wow! The mormons must be pissed!

Many things from Freemasonry were taken, changed, and used by Joseph Smith--who was a Mason--but the annotations are incorrect about all Masons receiving a "new name" during initiation (5:32).

You and each of you do covenant and promise that you will pray and never cease to pray to Almighty God to avenge the blood of the prophets upon this nation, and that you will teach the same to your children and to your children's children unto the third and fourth generation

How he is eligible to be President, forgetting that his father was an illegal alien. And his great grandfather fled the country for perjury and polygamy charges.

I want to say this is no more wacky than any other religions, but my frame of reference is as a confirmed Lutheran*, so it does seem a lot wackier. God needs a secret handshake and password so he knows you're cool... that's just comedy gold. I want to start seeing "Hey Mitt! What's the secret handshake?" signs at rallies.

*My last day ever in a church was the day I was confirmed. My mom made me a deal that if I completed the classes and shit I could decide on my own whether to go back. I didn't believe in magic then, and I don't believe in it now. Did it for mom.

This video makes me wonder if why Romney is doing anything and everything he can, regardless of personal integrity, to become President, is because he's on a Mormon mission to get revenge on the United States of America.

Naah. Can't be. Too far-fetched.

Hey @Fletch, thank you for sharing this. What I can tell you is that your church failed to teach you the most important thing, which is how to have a personal relationship with God. Rituals and classes don't make you a Christian. To be a Christian you have to be born again;

John 3:3

Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."

This is a supernatural rebirth, a complete recreation making you into a new man. It isn't something you learn about, it is something the Holy Spirit works within you when you truly accept Jesus into your heart. A man or a church can't do this for you; that's why confirmation, and other such rituals, are completely meaningless and ultimately a stumbling block to anyone who doesn't know Christ. This is why you left the Lutheran church in the first place, because following their precepts didn't bring you to know God personally. You said it yourself; you don't believe in magic. That says it all. This is the tragedy of many who grow up in Christian homes, who turn their back on what they presume is a dead faith, because they were never taught how to have a experiential relationship with a living God.

To know God is to Him personally. You could pray: "Jesus, if you're everything the bible says you are, I will follow you". If you can't go that far, simply ask if what I've said is true. God will show you, if you sincerely want to know. You managed to pass through the Christian religion missing the entire point of why it even exists. That is, to have a personal relationship with the creator of the universe, and the lover of your soul. God bless.

There are probably a few people like Fletch here who feel the way he does; grew up in the church without ever discovering that there is a real God who actually loves them. This video on Mormonism demonstrates the emptiness of that kind of religion, that it is actually just some kind of sad farce. Rituals and creeds can't change a mans heart; only God can do that. I found a video on youtube just a little while ago for a book someone is promoting on this very subject. I've never read it but it seems like it would be helpful for anyone who has been through the rigors of religion but never found a personal relationship with God.

Lol, for me, I never realised I had a choice to not be catholic. Growing up in Ireland, you had normal people (i.e. catholics), those dirty protestant kids* and that was it. Oh I was vaguely aware that there were other weird "foreign" religions, but it had zero impact on my daily life.

Baptismal Font

In the Bible, Jesus taught about baptism (see, for example, John 3:5). Because many people do not have the opportunity to be baptized in this life, the fonts in temples are used by the living to be baptized in behalf of those who have died. The baptismal font rests on the backs of 12 oxen, following a tradition dating back to the Temple of Solomon that is described in the Old Testament. The oxen represent the 12 tribes of ancient Israel.

Hey @shinyblurry. What I can tell is your church failed to teach you how to ignore the supernatural brainwashing bullshit that all religions teach you, and how to steer clear of the completely fabricated nonsense that will doom you to a life of believing in hocus-pocus that divides all people, has started endless conflicts and murdered millions of people all for absolutely fuckall.

Reality 1:1

And the real world said to him "Truly, turly, I say to you, to run as fast as you can from anyone who believes in Jesus, because those people are completely fucked up and are going to destroy everything and turn people into total assholes"

To understand reality, you may have to sit in a quiet room and think to yourself "hey self! What's up with believing in something that has zero proof of ever being true even in the slightest? Like, are you that fucking numb?"

I think she thought I would eventually come around if I stuck with it. Her father was a preacher (7 daughters!), and it was kind of important to her, so I at least finished the whole confirmation process for her. Church was always such a tortuous, boring, monotonous affair. I still hate Sundays because I can't shake the memory of blue-haired elderly women with suffocating amounts of cheap perfume on. The lutefisk and lefsa feeds were always awesome though.

Made in the image of the "molten sea" from 1 Kings 7:23-26:
1 Kings 7:23-25 (KJV)

23 And he made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

24 And under the brim of it round about there were knops compassing it, ten in a cubit, compassing the sea round about: the knops were cast in two rows, when it was cast.

25 It stood upon twelve oxen, three looking toward the north, and three looking toward the west, and three looking toward the south, and three looking toward the east: and the sea was set above upon them, and all their hinder parts were inward.

(I love this part because it shows that god thinks that Pi equals 3.0)

Trips me out that it took someone besides the submitter and 2 days to add this to the cult channel. Mormonism is about as glaring an example of a cult as any of them. Others you may have heard of....
Scientology
Jehovah's Witnesses
Church Universal and Triumphant
Moonies
Raëlism
Christian Scientists
Unification Church...and a shitpot full of others including some fringe militant polygamists with their heads up to their red necks up each other's asses.
It's a brave new world, William Gibson fans get ready because he pretty much nailed with every novel possible scenarios for soon-to-be Planet E, and whack religions factor way in.

Tried that once. For a while, I seriously wanted Jesus and the good things people said of him to be true. Too bad reality doesn't work that way. I doubt you'll read the rest of this, much less respond, but here's what that experience taught me:

It's a beautiful comforting lie, and if you cling on to it hard enough, you will distort your reality to confirm what you want to believe. It's what happens when people thank god for saving them after an earthquake, instead of cursing him for causing the earthquake in the first place. It's why for every religion, no matter how disparate they seem, you will find people fervent enough in their beliefs to claim a personal relationship with their "god".
Christianity is not special and your "relationship" with god is not special. There are many like you, although they do not share your belief, share you delusion in belief.

The truth will reveal itself to you, if you sincerely want to know. But I think you'd rather shield yourself in your faith, in your armor of lies rather than seriously consider the possibly that your god simply does not exist. Such a thing would go against everything you've believed in since you were young, something that's an integral part of your very identity. To truly consider such a possibility would shatter the very foundations of your world, and you, like most Christian religious people, are simply not strong enough to handle it.

Humans are evolved to be social animals. I think they are also evolved to be religious animals. It doesn't make any of it true, and it doesn't matter what religion it is. It makes sense: hundreds of thousands of years of evolution and belief in magic, witch doctors, animal spirits, priests, gods and angels, - all of which binding the rules of the social group, rejecting or killing those who don't believe... is bound to reinforce some biological traits. It's even proven that these traits can be artificially triggered through strong magnetic fields or even drugs.

So... a diet of religion is good for you... has a biochemical effect creating a sense of well-being and belonging.

@shinyblurry 's personal relationship God is no different than that of a Hindu, Buddist, Tao or Mormon... i'm sure it feels good.

I think people get too obsessed with being intolerant of religion just to hurt others and feel superior. But it's like telling a child there's no santa or magic... why ruin something nice just because facts get in the way?

Reality is all subjective. If you like your's please enjoy but keep it to yourself.

shinyblurrysays...

I did read what you have to say @mentality, and I will answer it.

I'll say first of all that you're starting off with the wrong presuppositions about me. I didn't grow up Christian, I grew up in a secular home without any religion. I was an for agnostic for most of my life and very skeptical of the Christian religion; it was about the last thing that I thought might be true. The reason I became a Christian is because God gave me personal revelation of His existence. On that basis, it would be irrational for me not to be a Christian, based on the evidence I have received.

I can really relate to what you're saying. I used to feel much the same way, and you're absolutely right; if Jesus isn't alive then everything you said is basically true. In that case I am just a victim of my own confirmation bias. I also can't tell you why Jesus didn't come into your life at that time. Perhaps it just wasn't the right time and there were more things He wanted you to learn about and do in the world before He opened your eyes. I didn't receive any revelation for most of my adult life so there is definitely a timing issue involved. Which is to say that I know that He heard your prayer, but God operates on His own schedule. You're also right about this:

"The truth will reveal itself to you, if you sincerely want to know."

Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. If you are looking for the truth you will end up on His doorstep.

So, I will be praying for you. I know the Lord heard your prayer, so open your heart again to the idea because if you meant it, it is a prayer He intends to answer. I believe that is why we're talking about this now. Jesus said this:

Revelation 3:20

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

If you hear His voice, open the door, and He will come in to your life. God bless.

It makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint, but another standpoint is that we were all created to worship. Even people who do not subscribe to any particular belief have something in their lives that they pay homage to, be it money, power, celebrity, their hobbies, or even themselves.

I also appreciate your sentiment about trying to be superior but I think your point is somewhat undermined when you contrast disputing with people who are religious to taking candy away from children who don't understand what facts are.
