He wasn't being a dick. He just wasn't telling these kids were little angels who get everything right (even when they're wrong).

He wasn't afraid to also teach them a bit of humility.

BTW, this was my favorite show growing up.

This this this this.

Talk to kids like they're little adults. Because they are, and they'll appreciate the respect that you're showing for their intellect.>> ^brycewi19:

That pendulum experiment is very cool. I think a lot of adults would be apprehensive about that, even though that can simply can't hit your face as long as you don't apply any push to it.

These clips are from his *80s show; not old enough for vintage.

My favorite quote here is at 1:10

Mr. Wizard - "Well you have one of those inside your head"
Kid - "I do"
Mr. Wizard - "Ya it's called a brain"

LOL

Still one of my favorite shows as a kid though seriously. Forget Mr. Rogers, Mr. Wizard was where it's at, was, well you get my point.

Mr. Rogers was awesome because of his advocacy for public broadcasting and education. But, yeah, Mr. Wizard was a better show AND he didn't have those creeeeeeepy puppets.

Wow, memories! I loved that show when I was a kid. At least, I loved it before 1960 or so. Then I got too old to be science-y. Yeah, I was that stupid.

Hey there, Mr. Wizard!
