People who don't have a patch cord for their camera to hook into the output of their VCR/PVR. Or at least lack the technical savvy to hook it up.
grinterDidn't both the Greeks and Romans use the name Apollo?
Someone set me straight here.

Some people do it to avoid copyright issues, though I don't know how well it works.
Companies can scan youtube videos with automated software to catch copies of their material, but I doubt it works when it's copied by a handheld device. This method also allows the user to comment on what they are recording, thereby creating original content which can be considered "fair use" of the included material, or so I've read.
I'm certainly not a lawyer... anyone know more about this?
HaricotVertShe should have put her finger on Uranus, because that the right move.

nanrodThere's something fishy about her comments butt I can't quite put my finger on it.
deathcowI'm still not confident, lets see if the crowd would pick Uranus.
DraxLifeline - "Oh I gotta say, that definitely sounds like Uranus.".
SkeeveApollo was a Greek god for which the Romans had no equivalent (unlike Zeus/Jupiter, Poseidon/Neptune, etc.) so the Romans adopted him under that name. Some later Roman poets referred to Apollo as Phoebus but it wasn't as common.

Ah, so the Roman's didn't just inherit the name Apollo; they inherited the god himself. Neat. Thanks!
RedSkyCould have done without the yokel cackle.
