Massive solar flare aimed at earth captured by nasa!

The Bad Astronomer:(YT description)
On February 15th, the Sun erupted with an X2 class solar flare and small coronal mass ejection that was aimed at Earth. We're in no real danger from it, but it's cool to watch! The flare erupts from the bright region (sunspot 1158) just to the right of center, and the CME is seen as an expanding halo. This footage is from NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory, and you can read more about this on my blog: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/2011/02/17/kablam-footage-of-the-x-class-solar-flare/
