Linkin Park: Burning In The Skies -- Music Video

Linkin Park's music video for their song: "Burning In The Skies" off of their most recent album "A Thousand Suns".

Unlike their previous albums---this is entirely my opinion, but I believe it to be accurate---they have changed and evolved their sound and themselves to make a much better album as a whole (AGAIN this is my opinion). I can say without hesitation this is easily their best compilation/album and job as artists. While they did change during their other albums, this album sticks out, blatantly, as something new: a change in direction perhaps. It is episodic and the album is tied together; but, it is very radio friendly--still showing that they've changed, but in some ways they haven't (or have yet to learn; they're very young-- I won't count them out).

The album has a distinct difference and feeling to it, that the others lacked completely (due to the albums "episodic" nature). This album has a sense of self; or a soul, because of what I've mentioned the others lack entirely. But, it's the music itself that has changed and become a true challenger with other bands. Before they felt: too edited or too post-processed; this never allowed me to think they were anything but a band created by their media owners and a fad. But they're growing up and things change. There is still a lot of editing, post-processing, but the music is much more "their own" this time: they're able to utilize many different music styles together, because of this and it works decently.

I suggest you give this song a chance (which is a decent song--and the softest, plainest), but also their others as this is one of their weaker songs in my opinion. They have much more to offer as a whole album wise.

EDIT: They're growing up. I changed some sentences to clarify descriptions, as I realized my attributions I gave Linkin Park were seen somewhat incorrectly. So I "tried" to make it a little more clear as to what I mean, when I say that evolution is occurring in Linkin Park's case.

You may think they've headed in a bad direction, that is your opinion, and this is mine.
