Jumping kicks in MMA are generally a bad idea.

The good part of this vid comes a little later, but the payoff is huge, so bear with it. Skip the interviews at the beginning if you're antsy and jump to the fight in the middle.

This is an MMA match in the very early days of American MMA, Travis Fulton vs. Jeremy Bullock. Fulton is the chubby, larger guy, with a background of jiu-jitsu and wrestling.
