Journey to the West (with English Subtitles) 1-1

The TV series 'Journey to the West' was produced in 1986,it's an old version, but still the best version,it was adapted from the chinese classic novel 'Journey to the West'.The actor 'Sun WuKong' is the greatest 'Monkey King',his stage name is Liu Xiao Ling Tong(six-year-old kid).

I have been watching this on you tube, its has vary few views. the guy or gall (gl51423) has been posting one or 2 clips a day every day for 3 weeks .he is vary disciplined.

its a great story, vary famous, the novel is four volumes long, lots of cool SYMBOLISM . As far as I can tell its about a monkey that was born from stone. This monkey finds a group of other monkeys who elect him king. This group of monkeys only want to eat and drink, A few of them die from over-consumption. So the Monkey King goes on a quest to find the key to immortality. Eventually this monkey finds a monk who teaches him a bunch of Taoist tricks. But the monkey ends up getting kicked out of the temple. He goes on to challenge everybody including good and evil spirits. In order to contain all this monkey business. The higher ups give the monkey a post in heaven. Of course because he is a monkey they put him in charge of the horse stables. The monkey king at this point with all his skill and new tittle is extremely arrogant and belligerent. He ends up quiting his post in heaven because it is beneath him . The Bodhisattva is so perplexed by this that she cast the monkey to be partially buried under mountain for 500 years in order for him to learn patients. The plot thickens ..... this is the first episode which is kind of slow ,you gotta watch the one ( forth and fifth clip )where he learns the special arts from the monk, you'll be hooked. fun...ny
