You could skip the first 3:00, gets more interesting as it goes on

You'd think at some point, instead of filming all the inevitable crashes, they might actually attempt to close off the road themselves or something? Just stand at each end and warn drivers at least.

There should be a 'camera mentality' channel. There are so many videos where the camera operator is so concerned with getting the shot that he neglects to interact with the world in a responsible way.

..who knows?, bringing some awareness to this phenomenon might make it slightly less common.

Time to buy some Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice WRTs™....
Seriously though. I got these tires a couple of months ago and (although we've had a really late winter), they work really well, and I'm very impressed, and I didn't even get them studded; excellent ice performance (I ain't a shill I swear).

Although with that kind of ice they clearly need to get off the damn roads, no kinds of tires, studs, chains are probably going to help much on a road this slick.

I agree that they could have probably done more, but it would have been unsafe to try and block the road off themselves; they should have called 911 and let them handle it (presumably 911 was called many times anyway by all the people crashing/being hit).

I'd like to say I feel bad, but I don't. Looking at the way the trucks struggled, I'm willing to say there were rain tires on some of these vehicles. Given the speed of some drivers, I'm betting they thought the AWD/4WD would allow them to make it. Its not okay to think that you can just get by 'this once,' because there are a pile of other drivers thinking the same. Just stupid.

We Canadians laugh, and commiserate, with you. We certainly have more than our fair share of fool drivers who don't take the conditions into consideration when judging speed and distance, however, that was a little ridiculous. What were the people at 4:00 thinking?

Jesus said "Let he who has not erred throw the first stone" *Looks over shoulder* "Oh nevermind, I see dhdigital has already pegged her to death."

Tow truck drivers wet dream. All accidents, all police ordered..police rates.

Hey guys, the roads are bad, let's stand in them and be shocked when people almost run us down right next to where we just crashed. What could go wrong!

You can thank me for pushing this video upon the masses when it had like 70 views or so, hahaha. I didn't think at the time to put it up here, I'm glad @Stonebreaker did.

But, no, really, when the local neighbors are telling you to stop at the top of the hill and yelling at you--don't go DOWN the fucking hill! Many drivers simply ignored them and drove around and the problem wasn't stopped until the snow-plow came, got hit, then the police closed this infamous street down around 1630 or so (infamous, yet the people still go down!?).

What do you expect, a Mormon to help someone in need?

(only half sarcasm)
