Huge cargo ship crashes into Istanbul restaurant

Incredible footage caught the moment a tanker crashed into a historic mansion on the shores of Istanbul’s Bosphorus yesterday.

In one of the videos posted online, a visitor at the waterfront venue films the moment the boat smashes through the walls of the 18th century Hekimbasi Salih Efendi Mansion.

The shocking footage, captured inside a restaurant beside the waterfront mansion, showed the exact moment of the ship's crash, with staff panicking and running for their lives.

Extensive damage was left behind when the Malta-flagged Vitaspirit tanker, which was carrying 62 tons of dough from Russia to Saudi Arabia, was pulled back from the crash site.
