SagemindNice trick.
jqpublicksays...This video here? This is why we invented the intertubules. This one.
ravermanThank goodness he has this technique! That heavy duty pocket knife would have been totally useless...
GeeSussFreeKHelpful in zombie Apocalypse, or you just cleaned the kitchen.
Porksandwichsays...Good way to end up with concrete dust and metal flakes in your lunch too.
And a good finger slicing to go along with prying on the not properly cut can lid.
BoneRemakeGood video, when you would have to use a rock surface or something of the like in a time of need, it is good to know it is a rolled seal that can be "sanded" away. If all you had was a can of dog food doing that and them giving it a good " bash " on the corner would make opening up the goods more easy.
FOR SCIENCE !
FantomasI tried this once, but the concrete block wouldn't fit in my kitchen drawer.
serosmegRub it against the C-ment then use a knife to pry (not cut) the can open! Genius!
shagen454Man and I was just talking to UP about WHERE THE *&$* is my can opener?!
MonkeySpanksays...FYI, practical can openers were invented 50 years after the creation of metal cans.

messengerAnd I have yet to see a practical can opener that always works cleanly.>> ^MonkeySpank:

Really? I find these sort to be wonderful. Not that brand in particular, just the style of a horizontal blade that takes the whole top off rather than a vertical one that cuts the inside edge of the lid.
messengerThe horizontal kind work more often, for sure, but they still fail, and they leave the cans with very sharp edges at the top, which for me is worse than the failure rate of the vertical kind.>> ^spoco2:

Porksandwichsays...Could also go with the Popeye method, but it may only work with spinach cans.
luxury_pieThere is a way to screw up opening a can with a can-opener? Never happened to anyone I know. What does that look like? Explosions?>> ^messenger:

wraithsays...Aha. That is the guy who has sanded off all the curbstones in our neighbourhood. Gotcha.
1. Great idea (if you don't mind the fine metal dust in your food).
2. He says he opens his lunch that way?
3. His eats canned stuff for lunch?

Spose it depends where and when you work, or what you work as. And if you have a can opener or not
