two words for the good rabbi: prove it.

He admits belief is based on nothing when he tells about his classroom lecture days and says 'if you approach the question only with the intellect you'll never find god' (or words to that effect).

Believe because You Choose to Believe, but don't try to make stuff up that it's proveable. Conjecture about why we are moral creatures or how we became so is just that, conjecture.

this is the third talk i've heard where Hitchens brings up mount sinai, the problem with using this example for the origin or morals is that the point of that story DIDN'T HAPPEN
(well, you can't be given commandments by a god that doesn't exist).

both these speakers are vile, but at least hitchens is right (on this anyway)

had a surprisingly good point about invading iraq at 1.05hr yoo. i still think i might be inclined to disagree with it though, but i've never heard anyone argue the point better.
