Definitely an admirable sentiment.
Except, I wonder if maybe we might want to work on how we treat other human beings first.

I think the title of this documentary is very misleading if it is indeed filming one farm. My Dad was a pig farmer for 20 years and although as far as I'm concerned it is cruel to keep farrowing pigs in those cages, I know that everything was always kept clean; when piglets were due to be born, the farmers working there would be on demand as much as possible. I know that I'm talking about just one man and his experience, but I still think it's a bit out of line to insinuate this is the good ol' British way.
spoco2says...@alien_concept Yeah, it is unfair to depict an entire industry by the actions of possibly just one farm. There definitely seem to be some sadistic fucks working there. I couldn't watch to the end, I got the gist and don't need to see more of that horrendous treatment.
It's obviously run by a complete idiot. You're getting absolutely substandard product by having your pigs in that state and in that distress. You're getting huge losses from death at birth and unusable meat through the horrendous injuries. Just from a purely financial sense, ignoring the humane treatment of animals, it's no way to run a farm.
Horrendous 'people' working there, horrendous.
probiesays...I wish the US stores carried "real" bacon, rather than only stocking streaky bacon.
Kofisays...I am going to absolve myself of any guilt I might have of eating meat by saying that this documentary only represents one farm out of thousands and that the meat I buy probabl comes from a place where the animals are treated much better even though I have no way to prove it and no desire to either.
I chose ignorance and convenience over truth, thank you very much.
Arkaiumsays...Could anyone argue that the planet and all things on it, besides us, wouldn't be better off without us here?
Boise_Libsays...After reading the comments--I don't want to watch this video.
@alien_concept - I worked on a pig farm when I was a teenager--A very clean pig farm.
@TheFreak - Can't we do both?
GenjiKilpatricksays...So Troll-illaman, those pigs are animals.
you too are an animal.
you both have just has much interest in.. not being dragged about via the hole a crowbar has made in your skull.
Therefore, being cruel as fuck to other animals is wrong/bad/immoral.
Also a large waste of time and resources.>> ^gorillaman:
So?
Leifsays...@Kofi, That I think is some of the most horrendous shit I have ever heard.
articiansays...Seems more like terrible people than a terrible industry, though the latter does give facility the former.
It irritates me when they put things like this under a "Veganism" message though, as though eating meat is directly correlated to animal abuse. I'm sure there are some vegetarians out there who beat their dogs, too.
