Hands Free Safe Drivers Or Not

California is the latest state to require hands free use of cell phones while driving and as this video clearly demonstrates we are all much safer that way.

Kind of reminds me of that Mr Bean episode ...

Stupid f'ing knee jerk reaction law. It's illegal to talk, and yet it's perfectly legal to text message (except apparently in Fresno where they will take you in anyway). So instead of having half of your concentration on the road, now we have no concentration on the road as we key in our urgent messages about nothing. And still perfectly legal to do all of the things portrayed in the video.

Complete nonsense.

They actually did a study and found you are as likely to get in accident while talking on a cell phone as when drunk (source). Funny thing, I don't have any problems while talking on my phone, does that mean I could handle driving drunk?
