Grindhouse Cinema Trailers

Trailers for Trouble Man, Hit Man, Invasion of the Blood Farmers and Blacula... 70's style. (in celebration of the release of Grindhouse, Directed by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez.)

'Trouble Man' is a 1972 blaxploitation film produced and released by 20th Century Fox . The film stars Robert Hooks as "Mr. T.", a hard-edged private detective who tends to take justice into his own hands. Although the film itself was unsuccessful, it is still of note today for its successful soundtrack, written, produced and performed by Motown artist Marvin Gaye.

Like Isaac Hayes and Curtis Mayfield before him, Gaye became the next in a line of soul music stars who recorded soundtracks for films aimed at African American audiences. While the Trouble Man film was a flop, the Trouble Man soundtrack and single became successes for Gaye.

'Hit Man' (1972 film), is a 1972 blaxploitation remake of 'Get Carter', starring Pam Grier.

'Invasion of the Blodd Farmers' (1972) is about a cult of modern-day Druids on a farm in upstate New York. In order to keep their catatonic queen alive in her glass coffin, the cultists drain the blood from passersby with the aid of some cheap plastic tubing.

Blacula is the name of a fictional character that appeared in two blaxploitation horror films produced for American International Pictures in 1972 and 1973, respectively. The character was portrayed by William Marshall. Both films deal with the character of Mamuwalde, an African prince vampirized and imprisoned in a sealed coffin by Count Dracula, who finds himself released in the 1970s. The first film was produced by Samuel Z. Arkoff and Joseph T. Naar, directed by William Crain, and written by Raymond Koenig and Joan Torres. Blacula won the "Best Horror Film" award at the 1972 Saturn Awards.
