The Daily Show: Obama talked to Americans like adults
Ok, so from this video the question was asked, did the Daily Show edit down that Fox News story and remove the portion that they were referring to that they claim was plagiarism... the answer is nope... they really are just making stuff up.

Notice how they don't say he copied, notice her words, a take on the 'some people say' strategy, 'A lot of bloggers on the right who are having fun with those kind of charges'.

So, these unnamed 'bloggers' are 'having fun' with 'those kind' of charges.

Utterly terrible.

I apologize for the annoying Young Turk guy, he's kinda irritating.

Even if it is lies, its not ilegal.
Fox was taken to court over lies that it aired a year or so ago, and they won the case. They argued that the act of lieing itself in media was not covered in the constitution...and with that, they pretty much escaped libel charges.

What on earth are Fox News doing with stuff like this?

Can they really just make stuff up, say it, and get away with it?

I've heard all the faux news bashing recently, but i didn't know it was like this.... is it really as bad as shown here/people say?

Turning my TV off, choggie, would only hinder my viewing of "Curb Your Enthusiasm". My question is about fox news, not the on/off state of my TV.

Turn your misguided rage elsewhere.

As a side note, i think the BBC are one of the best news providers in the world. Not to say they don't have their agenda, just like the comment 1 spaces above does.

Ya gotta look at it from their perspective. The idea of a politician actually representing Americans is so bizarre it must be plagiarism. Sure, the words don't match at all but where else could he have gotten these crazy ideas? He must have stole them.

I can kind of see the point of view Fox News is taking on this. He's not plagiarizing the words, or even the same stories, but rather the way he's giving the speech, being that he's telling individual hard-luck stories of people in tough situations. Seen that way, both are similar. But it certainly isn't "plagiarism", and I guess this video clearly proves that some people out there really don't know the difference. You'd might as well say most southerners are blatant plagiarists, what with the way they all copy each others' ridiculous accents.

Man, if they're going to call that plagiarism then they'd HAVE to say so of EVERYTHING ANY republican spouts. They always spout the 'we'll be unsafe in the democrat's hands' and 'We are economically responsible' and 'democrats are leftist weirdos who don't like the 'family unit' '

Really... isn't the point of the parties such that they are supposed to be demonstrating similar ideals across party members?

"democrat party hasnt had an original thought since at least..."

as if this is an original attack. i suspect this might be closer to plagiarism than the clip they show. news flash, fascist: there's like 6 billion people in the world - you probably have a better chance of getting struck by lightning than having a thought occur to you that hasn't occurred already to at least one of those people.

they're political parties. they don't exist to create original ideas, it's fucking impossible for more than one person to collectively form an original idea.

too bad we can't have things the way coulter and malkin want them, so we could tie these dumb broads to a dishwasher someplace and beat them until they puke bloody feces-vomit.
