Formula 1 car vs. Normal cars

Enzobluesays...

First F1 race I ever went to we watched Porsche's racing and it was pretty exciting, but when the F1 cars took to the track it took your breath away. The difference should be seen with your own eyes.

What he said about breaking; an f1 car letting off the gas and not touching the brakes is the same as slamming the brakes full on in a normal car. It really does take a full peg higher in driving skill over any other racing.

Alaksays...

This is a really really old video. But still good to watch for comparison to just how fast these (F1) cars are.

They say if you have the reflexes of a combat jet pilot, you're too slow.

coolhundsays...

This race is bullshit.
I have a car with similar power to the E50 and theres no way it takes that long for me to pass a POS like the A-Class 15 secs in front of me, it just wont take a whole fucking lap or 2:30 mins. Thats just total bullshit.
And yes, I am driving on racetracks.

Paybacksays...

Similar power? Fine. Similar weight? Probably not.

A freight train has thousands of horsepower (6000-7000) and immense torque, but because it's 60+ ton, it can't do squat.

If you do race, it's probably not in a lead sled like the E50.

MaDMaXXsays...

This is old, but it's not BS, if you do race as you say, you'd know this is true. Specs can't be read into in the way i think you're doing it. Look at the head starts each of them get.
Someone already posted about the weight, combined with the head starts, they're bang on with the comparison.
