Grimmsays...Who's the kid here is right. Isn't the coach talking about a 22 year old 6'3" 230lb grown man? Sure he's a student and a young man...but the coach is talking about him as if he was a 12 year old kid.
mkonesays...Not football. down vote
mlxsays...He defended his player against a character attack. That's what coaches are supposed to do, right? Follow the link: it really is a speculative, gossipy column that could ruin that kid.
Grimmsays...I understand a coach defending a player for an attack on his character. I just thought playing the "kid" card for a 22 year old young man was going a bit too far.
MycroftHomlzsays...what a ridiculous article.
budzossays...The "kid" thing is relative. Coaches feel very fatherly towards their players, and vice-versa.
gorilla_squadsays...His skin is clashing with the background. And his shirt.
barraphernaliasays...The paper he's talking about "The Daily/Sunday Oklahoman" was named the worst newspaper in America in 1999 by the Columbia Journalism Review and it hasn't improved much since. In addition to it's horrible sports coverage it's a totally corrupt right wing propaganda rag. It might as well have a Fox News logo on every page.
We Oklahoman's lovingly refer to it as the "Daily Disappointment."
And for the record, Mike Gundy is the head Coach of Oklahoma State, not Oklahoma.
Even every OU fan I've talked to supports Gundy's reaction the the article.
