Video of the Flash Gordon Remix by Queen + Vanguard
Vanguard is a VSTi and AU software synthesizer by reFX. It is a virtual analog synthesizer with 3 oscillators, 32 waveforms, up to 10-times unison, a filter with a number of frequency responses, delay and reverb effects and stereo pattern controlled noise gate and arpeggiator, making it very popular among trance and goa trance producers.
Most functions can be automated, such as cutoff frequencies, resonance, ADSR, and LFO. Vanguard works with any VST-capable host.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vanguard_%28synthesizer%29 Flash is sung as a duet between Freddie Mercury and Brian May, with Roger Taylor adding the high harmonies. May plays all of the instruments except for the rhythm section. He used a Bösendorfer Imperial Grand Piano (with 97 keys instead of 88, having an extra octave on the low range), Oberheim OBX synth (which he plays in the video) and his homemade Red Special guitar.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_%28song%29 The classic sci-fi adventure film Flash Gordon (1980) stars former Playgirl-centerfold Sam J. Jones in the title role. Its plot is based loosely on the first few years of the comic strip
Raymond's drawings feature heavily in the opening credits, as does the signature theme-song "Flash!" by rock band Queen, who composed and performed the entire musical score.
