A 1979(?) documentary on the status of the US strategic forces and their weak points. The first 10 minutes are a rehash of the film material also used in The Day After, the "real" documentary starts after that.

An interesting documentary with the hindsight we now have. The interweaving of fear, uncertainty, hardliner propaganda and fact paint a bleak picture of the future as seen back then.

Also note the discussion on the B-52, which is considered to be phased out in 1995 in this documentary, due to age, complexity and better weapon systems out there. Currently this airplane first introduced into service in 1952 is expected to serve until at least 2040.
