Apology NOT accepted. This is not journalism, it's deliberate manipulation of the idiot viewers. The apology implies that they didn't know the context of the clip, which means one of two things: 1. They couldn't be bothered to check the source, or 2. They knew it was Biden quoting McCain and used it anyway. Either way, it says bad things about Faux News that everybody should know by now.

*lies

This is so bogus it's unbelievable, the McCain quote is so well known its ridiculous, it was one of the things Obama intentionally and repeadiatly used against mccain, and possibly one of many reasons McCain lost.

A 30 second apology for something they probably talked about for a week. Every now and again I tune into a fox program to see if they want to really give real news a try. They never let me down. I am starting to get the same feeling with cnn as well. I do like the fox 12 local news in portland, they mostly stay with the local stories, while the other networks will focus on another high speed chase or world story. I think they are all just geting lazy and taking the easy way out( extreme news for ratings).

Such an obvious lie.

Did they accidentally pick up the tape from the campaign, accidentally forward to Biden saying that and not see the context, not ask themselves where it was from, show the producers and reporters the tape without them realising where the quote from and then show it, repeadetly for many days?

No, someone made a very conscious decision to include that, to lie outright.

It's pretty similar to this Eddie Murphy joke;

It might be desirable for some regulation on the 'news' media. If Fox wants to bring entertainment 'news' they should call it Fox Entertainment. I think they should only be allowed to call themselves News is if they'd actually were held to some standard.
This sort of thing is unheard of on the news TV I have in my country (Netherlands). But then we don't have any Fox or CNN like infotainment channels. Only BBC World, which is actually news. The news we get is on regular and public channels and they are held to standards.

freedom of the press = overrated.

It needs to be tied to responsibility somehow. Time and time again, people say shit for the sake of ratings knowing FULL WELL it is bullshit and then get away with it by saying/printing an apology no one sees.

There should be stiff penalties associated with knowingly deceitful news. Jail-time, fines, licking rush's nutsack, stuff like that.
