"Singer Elton John and partner David Furnish became dads on Christmas Day. It is a first baby for John, 62, and Furnish, 48, who have been together for two decades.

The baby was born to a surrogate mother in California. The birth followed the couple's attempt to adopt an HIV-positive baby from the Ukraine, which was rejected last year."
