Election 2011: Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff in Etobicoke

He's the leader of the opposition, the party that's currently in second place. The election is on May 2, 2011; if Ignatieff's party wins more seats in Parliament than the Conservatives' Stephen Harper, then he becomes Prime Minister of Canada.

The speech is delivered to his supporters at his campaign headquarters.

For Americans: in Canada the leader of the country also represents a geographical riding (like a large congressional district) - he has to win his own riding, and lead his party to win the most seats too.
