Actually, not really new depths, since this kind of abhorrent and immoral ignorance is common among a certain substrata of religious, racist and/or homophobic people.
The pastor Worley being defended by one of his churchgoers here created controversy when he said in a sermon that gays and lesbians should be shut up concentration camp style so they die out (see link below).
