I know an international referee who red carded a mexican player once. The player didn't say anything to him but he and I quote "Looked at me like he was going to kill me." Referees used to be able to stop players from acting like fools. Now they dive and surround the referee and complain constantly, it's just not fun watching the highest levels of the game anymore.
