srdsays...This, plus thrustmasters new A10 HOTAS... Too bad my cats broke my TrackIR receiver .
calvadossays...*wings!
siftbotsays...Adding video to channels (Wings) - requested by calvados.
Paybacksays...Where's the iPod dock?
I'll need one after the Zombie Apocolypse to remember how to start the damn thing up.
marinarasays...should port this to c=64
BoneRemakesays...This reminds me of A-10 Tank killer I used to play in 1997. It will take me about five years before I can afford a computer that plays this game at a decent level.
Clips like this are what hopes and dreams get started by.
StukaFoxsays...Switches: The Simulator!
mxxconsays...so from the head movement i take it he used some head-mounted vr gear? but switches and buttons looked to be done w/ mouse?
but man that's pretty impressive to simulate everything there
Sylvester_Inksays...I really want to support the DCS series, but I don't care for their drm. Guess I'll just wait for Lead Pursuit's next release . . . if it ever comes.

DRM never stops anyone, it only hurts the end-consumer.
Years ago I heard about a few teenagers breaking into a military base and going for a joy ride in one of the push-button-ignition Hummers. I can now picture a teenager breaking into a military installation and flying off with his own jet thanks to this game
Houyokosays...I wonder how well it handles errors/mistakes in the start-up sequence. I'm sure you could cause some real problems if you went into one of these and started flipping switches at random.
Truckchasesays...I'm gonna play it with a Gravis Gamepad.
rottenseedsays...I'm going to stick to "Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing" and "Reader Rabbit"
ElessarJDsays...Very cool... but I wanted to see him take off!
probiesays...The "Enter Vehicle" key was so much easier in Desert Combat.
kymbossays...You people.
ChaosEnginesays...Wow that's amazing. I never thought something so awesome as flying an A-10 could be so f#$king boring!
Seriously, nothing exploded. At all. He may as well have been flying a 747.
Longswdsays...By the time you get into the air, your opponents will have died of encroaching senility.
harrysays...Does the checklist allow for bathroom breaks?

To get to the action I looked up one of the combat videos.
If you're patient and look closely enough at the night vision camera, something does explode towards the end.

Psychologicsays...Stay tuned for his next video: "How to hot-wire an M1 Abrams."
mgittlesays...Need dynamic lighting/shadows on the switches. It looks fake.
flechettesays...I'd have adjusted my seat first.
mizilasays...me @ 1:15 "I could do this..." @ 2:40 "Wow, this IS pretty complicated." @ 7:00 "ow my brain."
Seriously though, it's pretty amazing that you could theoretically have someone who's never touched one of these just get in and fly it away with the right simulation training.
blankfistsays...Words. Lots of words.
siftbotsays...Tags for this video have been changed from 'cockpit, startup, video game, realistic' to 'cockpit, startup, video game, realistic, flight simulator' - edited by xxovercastxx
pmkierstsays...Clearly my expectations on what constitutes realistic on the part of a *flight* sim (i.e. FLIGHT) was not shared with the poster of the video.
