Consequences of war

"In making this music video for "War" by Edwin Starr I tried to get a balance of images from a wide variety of wars and perspectives. This video is NOT anti-Bush, anti-Iraq, anti-Republican, anti-Israel, anti-Muslim, anti-German, anti-American, or against any other country, government, political party, ideology, religion, or people group. It only exposes the consequences of war.

At some level all countries are guilty, guilty of warfare. Wars arise because people are too greedy, stubborn, hateful, angry, or downright evil to resolve conflict peacefully. In some cases it's clearcut who's right and who's wrong. Other times its not. Either way war is a curse mankind has brought on itself.

Now, I plan on making videos highlighting and honoring veterans of past wars. This is not to glorify war. I wish they didn't have to make the sacrifices they did, but when they had to protect us and our freedoms they did with superhuman bravery and valor. That is what I want to honor.

Unfortunately each generation has to learn the truism: 'Freedom isn't free.'"
