I found the same thing. The damned text was so distracting I had to close my eyes to follow what Hitch was saying.

That animated text thing can be effective but not for a nine-minute reading of/by the Hitch.

I found the camera is zoomed in too close to the text making it hard to read and leaving a claustrophobic feeling. No white space made it hard to read and as soon as you tried, zoom off to the next word.

Zooming out would have made the animated text easier to follow.

If you listen carefully in controlled conditions you can hear SPAM scream as you slice it. So, I put the stove fan on high first thing in the morning. Try it with pineapple slices!
