lurgeesays...awesome find!
probiesays...I've always been a big fan of SK's short stories over his longer works. His early long work is great (Firestarter, The Dead Zone, etc) but after Misery he went down hill (imho). Not as concise or scary. His short work has always been great though. I still get creeped out when I think about The Breathing Method (Book 4 in Different Seasons).
critical_dsays...creepy music intro
pumkinandstormsays...Full movie! This is fantastic! Thank you!

Sagemindsays...This post is in violation of VideoSift Posting Guidelines.
Sift Rules:

That's what BitTorrent is for.

vaire2ubesays...i thought this was going to be a documentary on how fucked High Fructose Corn Syrup was making our kids... someone make it so i can watch it
siftbotsays...Moving this video to MrFisk's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.

BoneRemakesays...Violation : Yes
Do people care : No
Should they care : Yes
I do not see the harm in linking to a video like that on a specific clip that's sifted, but the entire thing should not be sifted.
BoneRemakesays...Why the discussion though. Its black and white and right in front of your face. I didnt look who posted it until after. You are a smart guy,you can read as well as you write. no exceptions. Does the FEAR OF DAGICUS' THUNDEROUS HAMMER not strike you down into tears !!!?
MrFisksays...I found this on Google video. In light of the recent court ruling regarding embedding, I decided to discuss it with the community.
When Rosa Parks sat in front of the bus, she knew it was against the rules. Nevertheless, the rules didn't change until she broke them.
Of course, I don't want any legal repercussions to befall our website. But, like I said, I found this on Google video. Should the hammer drop on me, VideoSift, Google, the Pentagon for inventing the internet? I don't know. But it merits a discussion.
I mean, it's not like I drew Mickey Mouse or something.
UsesProzacsays...Didn't come here to discuss posting guidelines. Came here to say thanks for posting this! It'd been so long since I watched this and I completely forgot how creepy it can be.
kymbossays...In conclusion, MrFisk is the Rosa Parks of Videosift!
MrFisksays...Isn't this the "Let me just put in the head, not the whole thing" argument?

Yep, I'm afraid that this one can't stay, unless you have something indicating this Google Video has the rights for this secured. Happy to leave this here for a bit for discussion. It's an important example of something that falls outside of what's acceptable in the posting guidelines.
MrFisksays...Another loss for sifters' rights.

Let's throw Rosa off the bus.>> ^MrFisk:

MrFisksays...VideoSift has posted movies from the beginning, and has yet to encounter a lawsuit. Let the copyright holders police themselves. Or just prohibit me from embedding them.

kymbossays...Ah, the old "All my friends are doing it, why can't I?!?!" argument.
Well, if all your friends jumped off a cliff, would you do it? Hmm?
<looks over reading glasses, crosses legs, ruffles newspaper>
That's right, you wouldn't.
MrFisksays...No, it's the old we-never-enforced-this-rule argument, so why start now?
And you have no idea what I'll jump off of. In fact, I'll probably be the first to jump.

We need to enforce this rule. By bringing this to my attention, I'm kind of obligated to discard these.>> ^MrFisk:

I don't have a fortress like Kim Dotcom - there is a noticeable shortage of uzis for when the DMCA police bring the battering ram to VideoSift HQ.
gwiz665says...Yeah, we can argue fair use all day with small or even longer clips from things, but when we have something in its entirety, it's hard to argue it, especially since we have our own self-censoring on that particular issue.
I remember a stream of the entirety of Star Trek TNG was posted a while back, but that's sort of an weird case, since it's a stream.
I also remember lots of ye olde filme that's been posted, but once we go over a certain time and enter the abandonware time, the rules get a little more lax.

Completely off topic, but I love it when people put action into their posts. This made me laugh; upvote!
kulpimsjokingly says...I thought The Children of the Corn embed is Rosa Parks and @MrFisk is the bus? this is confusing me, I have to lie down and watch a movie or something ...

Much ado about nothing??
MrFisksays...So, we just need to dag a gun before Obama imposes martial law before the next election? That, arranged, can be.
lurgeesays...i felt great to share this back in the day. it is my favorite science fiction movie. i also have the book and the audio book with Ray narrating it.
