Battlefield: The Siege of Leningrad

The siege of Leningrad was an unsuccessful military operation by the Germans to capture Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) during World War II. The siege started at 8 Sept 1941 and lasted until 27 Jan 1944, 872 days after it began. It was one of the longest and most destructive sieges of modern history and almost one million people died.
