This guy is doing his best to undercut light rail initiatives, spending his big bucks.
Favorite comment: This is classic conservative thinking. If you look at the individual in isolation, yeah, a car is great. You can go wherever you want when you want. But it relies on an entire economy built around fossil fuels (and many agree we've already seen peak oil), and as soon as you have millions of people all trying to exercise their individual freedom at the same time, well that personal freedom and mobility is meaningless when the practical result is everyone sitting in traffic - going nowhere.

But hey, let's build trillions of dollars of more freeways and maybe we'll find more oil on the moon or something.
