America, your president has class.

US President Barack Obama surprised a reporter on her 89th birthday by walking into a press briefing carrying cupcakes and singing Happy Birthday.

Mr Obama, who shares the same birthday date as veteran White House correspondent Helen Thomas, turned 48 on Tuesday.

So, Obama, when ya gunna get on fixing the fucking economy eh? I think that's a little more important than spending billions on "health care reform" at this point.

Oh and I wonder exactly how much this little photo op cost us taxpayers.

^Um, fixing health care will GREATLY impact the economy and getting it on the road to recovery.

It's the logical first step in getting the economy stimulated - if done right, of course (none of those Blue Dog Democrat concessions).

^Yeah, why the hell should we believe Obama will be able to provide health care for all if he can't even provide cake for all the people in A SINGLE ROOM!?!?!?!?

The fact that we COULD provide everyone with cupcakes is besides the point. If cupcakes were distributed evenly, no one would be motivated to bake more cupcakes. And then where would we be? Dead, that's where.

As a contrast, I was going to link to the video where Bush's press secretary disrespects and insults Helen Thomas for doing her job, but I can't find it anywhere. People need to tag their videos better.

How wonderful! I hope BHO thanks ALL his govt. employees and not just the ones pretending to be journalists.

When it's the Teleprompter's birthday, I'm sure he'll enter the room with a lint-free cloth and bottle of Windex, wrapped in a bow!
