Somehow he spun around on top of the crash barrier, but never passed over it. Those marshals and photographers are incredibly lucky.

I think the course designers are the ones who actually almost killed a dozen people here.

IF that barrier was 10 cm's lower those people would be dead now. They really dodge THE bullet there.

On a more uplifting note... Hurray for Science. Another horrific, violent crash, and the pilot came out completely unharmed.
