Why the Midday Drink Doesn't Work...

Just Wait For It

Quick and dirty (he he) translation: he offers her a course in 'crushing'. She doesn't understand what he means, so he proceeds to lick her picture, and at the end he says 'see, this is what we call a 'confidence crush', you can no longer trust me after what I just did, now can you, I just crushed your confidence in me'. She replies 'indeed, I don't think I can ever work with you again', he says 'great, now you're learning, let's move on to yet an other method of pissing people off'.
It's comedy, albeit deeply weird, but comedy nonetheless.
Unless of course it's part of some porn video...

Just what the hell is wrong with the Japanese?

The dude who keeps falling into the hot water and the other one with the stopwatch are a duo of comedians, they call themselves Ninety Nine and have their own show. They prank each other mercilessly, as you can see - this time the prank consists of making the shorter dude fall into tubs of very very hot water, and they time how many seconds he was able to take it; the water appears to be so hot that they thoughtfully place vats of crushed ice nearby, for a bit of relief. The particularly cruel side of this duo is that they will play the same (fairly violent/painful) prank on the same guy within the space of two minutes or so, sometimes they'll do it a third or fourth time until he gets really paranoid and afraid of everything from doors to manholes. Don't ask me why he was wearing a woman's bathing suit there, I haven't a clue, but it's in line with what they do. Their New Year's Eve shows go on for hours, are live and packed with a ridiculous amount of pranks. I was sixteen at the time, and had gone through life hating them both with a passion that's hard to explain to someone who's never lived under a dictatorship. I must admit I cheered and clapped when I heard they were dead, and even seeing the shameful way they were killed didn't diminish the primal scream of joy we all let out when we knew for certain they were both dead and there was no going back to the dark days. After a few weeks, I felt embarrassed and ashamed at having cheered the deaths of two old people, vicious though they may been - and I think that's the way most people felt after a while.
The way Romanian politics works though, if he were alive he'd be in Parliament now, so...

This is a seriously funny show, it really is. The stuff they think up, man oh man. Plus, every time they fail, they get their arses hit with some seriously painful-looking planks. Mirth.
