CNG tank explodes while owner fills up

Porksandwich says...

Looked like he was trying to stop the flow at the pump, realized it wasn't stopping and went to remove it from his vehicle when it blew. So he probably knew he wasn't using proper equipment on his vehicle and knew to stop it manually.

The answer to our traffic jam fantasies

Tailgating is bad, okay!

Porksandwich says...

There was, and maybe still is, an insurance scam in the US where two cars would surround one (front and back). Guy in back would tailgate and do whatever to distract the mark in the middle, then guy in the front would slam on his brakes.

I'd look at this video and say it was a failed attempt....because the guy in the front claiming the dude with the camera is at fault is sketchy.

They ask, did you feel one bump or two....IE two = guy in middle hits you, then gets hit from behind....clearly a one bump situation there heh.

The Flash - Extended Trailer

Porksandwich says...

Well if it's made by the same people who write for Arrow. You can expect him to repeat some theme through out the season. Arrow, everyone goes on about killing vs not killing... multiple times during the same episode...each episode..at least it feels like it.

Truck Smashes Into Overpass

Porksandwich says...

I don't know if it's pertinent to the video or not, as I couldn't see plates or anything distinguishing on the vehicle....but ......

A lot of trucking companies will have US drivers drive into Canada and Mexico and drop off their loads, to be picked up by an out of country driver and brought BACK into the US because it's cheaper since Canada and Mexico don't have as many laws for their vehicle standards/tagging/insurance and their labor rates are lower so US drivers can't come close to their rates. And because the US authorities aren't going to be as likely to get anything if they pull them over for violations....so they are more likely to pass them over in favor of in country drivers.

Now, I find that different cities/states ways of handling traffic signage and other things is confusing as someone in country at times. So I can only imagine what kind of shenanigans having a bunch of out of country drivers crossing back and forth across borders and delivering all over the place will lead to. I don't believe non-CDLs are tested for driving in other countries at all....and am unsure of CDLs...I really doubt it.

Good Thing Volvo Trucks Have Excellent Brakes

Porksandwich says...

I know of someone who was in a very large dump truck that flipped on it's side when someone pulled out in front of him, he swerved to avoid T-boning the old guy in the driver side door. Truck flipped on it's side, slid across the road and crushed the cab of the truck, killing the dump truck driver.

I do not recall if he hit the engine portion of the car or not that caused him to flip or the truck flipped due to load shifting, maybe a combination of both. But he would have smashed that old guy like paper and probably would have lived if he just ran him over.

So I can see why a truck driver would be very upset at someone being careless around them...besides it affecting their livelihood with any sort of damage they may take in any accident or avoidance of.

And I'd just like to say as someone who used to run some fairly heavy machinery, it bugged me every day when people were careless around me. Because I could have easily crippled if not killed people outright in seconds, and that was with a big loud machine and a blocked off work area people chose to ignore. Was the worst when they assumed just because you were slow moving that you could easily stop and maneuver. Luckily I never hurt anyone, but if I had it would have haunted me despite my having done everything I could do aside from not using the machines at all.

And just as a FYI. Hydraulic beds can get weird failures where they will raise on their own. I was told stories about one that would raise on it's own due to some problem with the controls, and the guy wasn't paying attention and drove down the road smacking all the traffic signals. AFAIK newer trucks have lock outs to disable the lift of the bed, but shit happens.

Honk at em if you see some going down the road with their bed raising (aside from salt trucks), cuz you never know what they might have in their bed that'll come spilling over on you. (seen a truck like this one hauling human waste they would put on crops but had too much of so it went to the landfill...looked like pudding and landfills smell really bad...and you could smell from a half mile when that truck was coming to be weighed on it's way in.....I still don't know how he legally hauled that around in what is essentially a non-sealed container.

Liquid Triple Point Boils and Freezes at the Same Time

Porksandwich jokingly says...

When Im really sick, stuff inside my body kinda feels like that. Like the mysterious stuffed up can't breathe through nose that runs like a faucet..

So I am diagnosing this liquid as officially "sick". Lots of bed rest.

Slow Life

Driving 70 in a 35 zone... during test drive

Porksandwich says...

Presumably this guy has some authority over the car. So her telling him to get out if he doesn't like it is some pretty ballsy shit. I'd argue that if at any point he said "pull over you're not a safe driver", it's either theft when he gets out or kidnapping when she doesn't stop.

Hell I've seen people come into car lots dead of winter, car has snow all over it and obviously hasn't been started recently, they start it and red line the engine. Car lot employees tell em to stop, and they end up getting removed from the car lot for doing it again. There are things most people wouldn't do to their own vehicles, so doing it to other people's property is just asinine.

Oh and stories of people who've "test drove" big vehicles so they could make a big grocery run and/or move furniture. Which is why they put the car lot employee in the car to stop them from taking it to do whatever with it....and can revoke permission if needed.

Guy may be pushing her buttons, but obviously she has some sort of issue with having limitations put on her use of other people's property.

Not sure what I would do in a situation like that, I'd be highly reluctant to just let someone drive off with a vehicle because they were being unsafe. Calling the cops might make her lose her shit, she ain't acting right IMO.

My guess is she doesn't know she's being filmed.
