Chester The Incredible Peeing Dog

9364 says...

I have pissed longer then that in the past and yes I have a very large bladder. But it's a rarity and I'd have to go extremely bad. Granted, I've never done a handstand while doing it.

Vanilla Ice says 'Sorry'

9364 says...

Course he was a puppet, just like every last one of the major music artists these days, they are good looking but with little talent and zero actual musical ability besides a voice (that more often then not has been digitally smoothed out.)

But I cannot accept his apology. Why? Because he's still wearing hats two sizes to big.

Tom Cruise can certainly act but rarely does he do so. And yea, he's also completely balls-to-the-wall crazy.

He was however, hilarious in Tropic Thunder.

Jon Stewart is angry at Rick Santelli and CNBC

9364 says...

Yes John Stewart is a talk show host, if you expect more then that, your expecting to much. He does a good job of showing the flip side of things, such as this video.

I'd have to agree with him on that last point. F You, to all the big corporate scumbags who care more about their wallet and their shareholders then the well being of the worlds economy.

This isn't a US issue or a British issue or any other national issue. Today's market is a world market. When asshats like this guy pull their stunts, they aren't hurting just one country, but every 1st world country.

And the guy above me is correct as well that people need to stop living beyond their means. This is something that started in the 80's and just kept rolling on to the troubles we have today. But to suggest it's only Americans who have done this is absurd. There's no denying that it was a trend we started, with our country being nearly wholly consumption based, but the trend has since spread, known as 'the American lifestyle' around the world.

People have idolized the rich and stupid for to many years now while spending $500 on a purse instead of paying their bills, running up thousands in debt through credit cards etc. The so called 'greatest generation' has a lesson to teach on wise spending and saving and I hope that if this crisis does anything, it does just that.

But note that big business is behind even that. For three generations now corporations have pushed spending as a lifestyle. You cant go anywhere, even in your own home without being inundated with messages (most in the form of the commercial,) to spend, spend and spend so that 1% gets richer and richer. Eventually that was going to spiral down and it finally has. I just hope, as I said above, the lesson is learned or it will just happen again.

The Rachel Maddow Show: Apocalypse Now?

9364 says...

>> ^soulmonarch:
She also seems to automatically correlate, the word 'socialist' with 'communist'. (This really bothers me.)

You really would be surprised just how many people do the same. Socialism is such a dirty word in this country that many people not only don't know what it even means, but basically think it = communism.

The Rachel Maddow Show: Apocalypse Now?

9364 says...

1: I love how all these christians have taken 'rapture' as strait out Jesus' mouth when it's just taken from a writing of FICTION in the last century. It's just so funny that all these people think this is going to happen when clearly it never will.

2: Once again I'd like to point these guys to any book (non-fiction) on the dark ages. Go ahead and read that and if you still think we are nearing the 'end times' now, your strait up either lying to yourself or a sensationalist. Because if Armageddon wasn't happening in the dark ages it certainly as fuck isn't taking place today!

3: I cant believe how ape shit crazy the 'religious right' and conservatives are going after just a TWO MONTHS out of power. If they keep going this way and just getting more and more hardcore while they war with one another over either sticking as hardcore conservative as they can get or changing with the times and making one of the two black guys the leader of the party, with a 'you da man!' to back it up.... they won't see another republican president for 20 years.

It really is funny to see this huge battle between the republicans and the conservatives going on. That and the whole last 8 years seemingly never existed. The debt, thats all Obama. The ecconomy, a mess directly caused by Obama, and lets not forget Obama is either 1: the antichrist or 2: Hitler's extended twin.

It's just to funny.

Edit (again): I somewhat agree that nobody has the right to judge peoples religions. I think nobody should judge anyone's personal beliefs (unless they are causing undo harm to others of course.) However it is our RESPONSIBILITY to judge religions as a whole and popular religious belief.

I am so glad the world as a whole is slowly waking up to realize the harm this world has endured I in the name of religion. It just isn't happening fast enough.

How to show that horoscopes are bunk - Neil deGrasse Tyson

9364 says...

The simple horoscopes in the daily paper form of Astrology is bunk and everyone knows it. But true Astrology, the type that has been practiced for millennial, is actually very insightful and very mathematical. Whether you believe in it or not as someone who has practiced it in the past it can hit on small details in someones life that 1: are not remotely common and 2: uncannily accurate such as very specific dates of major events in peoples lives. When I meet people who read their daily astrological prediction in the newspaper and are like 'omg thats so like me' I have to laugh as they are buying into the bullshit. I try and tell them, 'look, there are hundreds of millions of people with your sign, a general daily reading based just on your sign isn't going to tell you jack squat and is almost always going to be basic generalization.'

For example, a lot of people don't know anything about classic astrology and it's seaming coincidences. Such as the fact that a great many American presidents and other world leaders very often have some particularly significant similarities in their natal charts. That doesn't mean nobody else does but in the hundreds of natal charts I've produced over the many years (though I haven't done any in half a decade,) nobody has ever had that similar pattern. Again thats not scientific evidense but if your looking for that, your not going to find it. However it's fantastic coincidental evidense.

South Park - Ben Affleck makes out with an 8 year old boy

9364 says...

It's late night cable TV, so they manage all kinds of stuff.

But that clip isn't as good as later where cartman wakes up after 'jenny' and affleck have sex. That part is funny as hell!

It certainly isn't 'the beginning of the end of south park' as this was some years back and the show has won at least 2 Emmys since then for some absolutely fantastic and funny as hell episodes. South park has been going for over a decade now and going strong. I cant wait for the next season, starts in a few weeks. Just wish Comedy Central didn't split the seasons up, and the seasons are only 14 episodes. So we get 7 episodes every 6 months, which sucks.

Ultimate Home Theater: 13,000 Watts, 130dB, $1 Million Price

9364 says...

Lol thats awesome but you can get a fantastic home theater setup for much.. much less.

For example, over the fall I redid my home theater setup for about $3500, that includes.

Samsung LN52A650 - perhaps the best mid-high range LCD tv's in 08. Got mine for a bit over $2100. The picture blows anything I've ever seen on a TV away, no matter the model or the price. Call me biased (it is my TV of choice) but next to some of the LCDs my friends have.. they all now want one lol.

Pioneer 1018AH Receiver - Simply amazing, this thing can hit +80db. Thats no '130db $1m powerhouse but for $300 it's stunning.

Polk Audio RM6880 5.1 speakers - I have frankly never heard anything better outside a $3000 Klipsh setup. Pricetag - $900

Samsung PD1500 blu-ray player - Mid-end but I felt no need to go better. Cost me around $150.

I tell you there isn't a single person in my entire neighborhood who hasn't stopped over to experience the setup and every last one had their mind blown. Just at 0db you cant hear yourself scream. I typically play movies at -20db and thats plenty loud enough.

So yea, you don't need a $1m setup for great home theater, course I'm sure it would sound simply amazing.
