Discarded videos in Queue

If a video was discarded for lack of votes can it be Queued by another sifter? Should it be discarded since it is a duplicate post. If it is allowed to stay in the Queue it seems unfair for the first poster of the video.

Once a video is discarded by negative votes or not enough votes by time, then it is fair game for the other sifters. If there is a large number of downvotes, there is a good chance those sifters will downvote again.

If we have two of the same videos in the queue, we usually try to give the first poster preference - provided we spot the duplicate. Since the queue does see a lot of volume, it is important for ALL sifters to notice. A non-goldstar can leave a note calling the duplicate to the attention of the goldstars.

Some voting depends on who is sifting when. Also, preferences change too. Something we loved some months ago, we may not like anymore – and vica versa. A group of newer sifters may affect the voting as well.

You will also notice as the sift grows, that the magic number to graduate from the queue is raised.

Rules and practices are subject to change, so keep up with SiftTalk.

If I missed any nuance someone else will chime in.

yeah, you can submit it to be published again. Sometimes gold star members might even *save your video for you. Which requeues it with the current number of votes, but gives the video another 4 days to seek fame and fortune.
