Bio:
There used to be more here but we all lost so much on 3/11.
Placeholder: This Sifter is a citizen-soldier with a commercial pilot's license and a degree in history. I live in the best city of the world's third best country: Montreal, Canada. I am a pillar of Sift, but unsung, since I make too many comments that are cryptic and baffling and not enough that are zesty and sexy. I submit an awful lot of music, much of which takes a year to get sifted, because you are all philistines.

I had forgotten that the link between the Le Cargo session and that performance was the venue... this was probably the same day as the Le Cargo recording.

That's interesting... the only trouble is that a tag search for "marketa irglova" won't show it up now. I only previously knew her as half of The Swell Season, with Glen Hansard... and since it took three searches to find all the clips including her, my vid isn't the only one with tag issues :

I modified your tags, old son! I felt people should know she's the young lady from the movie 'Once' (which I hadn't known until right now).

I appreciate that you knew the piece on this animation I posted, thanks a lot!
The one you were looking at was:
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="500" height="401"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BtJuoAl8iWE?version=3&controls=1&fs=1&border=0&autoplay=0&cc_load_policy=0&iv_load_policy
=3&loop=0&egm=0&rel=0&showsearch=0&start=90&modestbranding=0&showinfo=0&theme=dark"/><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"/><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"/><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BtJuoAl8iWE?version=3&controls=1&fs=1&border=0&autoplay=0&cc_load_policy=0&iv_load_policy=3
&loop=0&egm=0&rel=0&showsearch=0&start=90&modestbranding=0&showinfo=0&theme=dark" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always" width="500" height="401"/></object>
I don't normally put the start= in the middle like that, I normally put it after the theme=dark.
There are other options you can tweak, documented here:
http://code.google.com/apis/youtube/player_parameters.html
I found mention of a chrome thingy to do it for you if you use chrome:
http://www.mydigitallife.info/youtube-allows-you-to-start-playing-embed-video-at-specific-start-time/
Obviously pros and cons vs using lucky's vs submit one.
Now if you just want a segment out of the middle... then you have to use tubechop.

Opo, how'd you get the video embed with a specific start time? I thought that only worked with the URL.
In reply to this comment by calvados:
Thanks O! I'd love to see this thing hit 10!
