Did you know that some invertebrates (like the octopus and cuttlefish) have a colorless blood that turns green-blue when oxygenated? Instead of iron, their respiratory system makes use of copper to transport oxygen. The theory is that in cold, high pressure, low-oxygen places this mechanism functions more efficiently.

What place in the heavens hath been wrought 'tis a greater stage to stand upon; to trod the sod, to fling the bean, to kick, to flail, to watch the thing? "Nay, none!," I say, the stadium, filled with ten thousands that stand as one; to urge, to hope, to cheer them on; those thespians of Sunday. Watch Josh perform his one man show as the crowd respond, "Bravo! Bravo!"

Hey Swampgirl, as master of all things Vintage have you heard of a site called Shorpy Vintage Photos? It's at http://www.shorpy.com/ and has the most fascinating archive of old pictures.

I haven't read a fiction book for a few years now. Currently got a stack of books I'm dipping in and out of. Currently reading "Influence Science and Practice by Robert B Cialdini". Learning a few tricks that advertisers use on us, interesting stuff.

Hi. I'm trying to start a biz and once it gets up I'm going to have to learn about advertising. It's especially weird since I loath advertising. Is that Cialdini book worth the money?
