Infinite Trees Are Super Weird - Vi Hart
What's this got to do with science?
Yup. A simple one, but still. And *science.
What Sex Looks Like from the Inside
No big deal. To help create these images, I'd totally stick gel up my ass and shit it out inside an MRI tube.
yeah obviously but said gel had to be inserted into said rectum.
it's basically a high tech deficating proctogram
Think of the practicalities of being in a tight tube of an MRI scanner and being asked to shit out some jelly with the clanking noise of the MRI not masking the farting/deficating sound. Just remember the amazing staff involved in obtaining such images.
What Sex Looks Like from the Inside
Maybe because poop doesn't show up on an MRI?
0:28 why is there gel coming out the rectum

European Debt Crisis Visualized
Thanks radx for bringing that up, and so astutely too.
I wasn't happy with a lot of the language in the video, especially surrounding the cultures of Germany and Greece. To me those parts sound like someone with a burning private agenda who just wouldn't be able to sleep at night without somehow painting Greek people as the problem and German people as doing the right thing. He tried to appear impartial, but it didn't come off that way to me. That statement sounded like it was full of moral assumptions, and I'm not surprised there's a strong counterargument to it.
8:18 – "Germany is very financially responsible".
The clip makes a few good points, twists others and omits some central issues. But I want to comment on the quote above most of all, because it forms the basis for all kinds of arguments and recommendations.

Why Bikes Stay Up - MinutePhysics
I had a similar thought, followed by an equally small desire to figure it out.
I wonder if it has anything to do with why train wheels stay on the rails due to being tapered, and the flange is only there for emergencies. They're self-centering.
Like, when the bike wheel turns, it becomes effectively a larger system that wants to return to being smaller.
Why Space Station Resupply Rocket Failures are a Good Thing
Thanks!
Time to get nit picky. The title of the video is incorrect. "Why the Recent Space-X Explosions are a Good Thing". Spacex Dragon has had only 1 failure (Sunday) in the last 18 launhces, 4th best record of all launch vehicles in history. Antares is a US vehicle and the Proton is Russian. So the title should read "Why the recent ISS resupply failures are a good thing"

This Video Will Make You Angry -- CGP Grey
It's an ironic title based on the point made at 1:15.
Bad title. Actually, this video will explain social media outrage fads in 7 minutes.

What makes something right or wrong? Narrated by Stephen Fry
Fair comment. We'll certainly never be able to measure it. As with anything of a philosophical nature, there are thought experiments we could conduct, and though they might come up with wrong answers, there's a better chance they're right than arbitrarily picking a side, and human civilization was doing just fine before organized religion entered into it.
Expanding on your point about obeying your priest (and giving myself an opportunity to quote my most hated Bible verse), the lesson the Bible teaches in that vein is to obey not just priests, but all human authority because all leaders were placed there by God.
Romans 13
1Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. 2Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. 3For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; 4for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. 5Therefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.
I don't necessarily disagree with you. I tend to think that religion does more harm than good, especially when the lesson it teaches is "Don't think, just trust your priest".
However, his view -could- be right. I cannot think of any way to test it that doesn't involve highly unethical processes, so I can't help but hope that we'll never really know.
