Sonoma And Surrounding Counties Firestorm

California Winter In 4K

Apparently Stearns Warf is what I thought was Monterey Bay. At least Monterey was in there somewhere so I don't need to change the tags. ;-)
1:33 the topography and stone looks a lot like McCloud Falls, (far north, near Shasta) but I'm not certain
1:41 from the wineries and small hills, it looks like Napa, but I'm guessing on that one

Expensive Wine Is For Suckers

shagen454 says...

This is why I love Trader Joe's... they have a lot of decent wines in the $5-10 range. I've definitely had really good bottles of wine I've bought directly from wineries in Napa or Napa #2 - Paso Robles... but if I'm buying off a shelf in a store there really is no reason to shell out that sort of cash, too many variables.

VS New Years Party Thread. (Happy Talk Post)

blankfist says...

We're cooking a Kosher bird, and I'm sipping on some Champagne (actually, Napa Valley Sparkling Wine, because they can't call it Champagne unless it was made and bottled in Champagne, France.).

I may watch a Blu-Ray later... or I may watch online videos. My gf and I decided to chill the fuck out this New Years, though hanging with DFT and Issy tonight would've been a blast.

Happy New Year everyone!

The Zodiac Killer calling CBS news

Xax says...

Regarding this incident, here's what Wikipedia has to say:

"Police officers who had heard the Zodiac, listened to "Sam's" voice and agreed that he was not the Zodiac. Subsequent calls the suspect made to Belli were traced to the Napa State Hospital, where it was learned that "Sam" was a psychiatric patient."

A visit to the French Laundry - Greatest Restaurant in USA

>> ^Trancecoach:And the many tiny courses do not leave you hungry. If anything, they satisfy unlike any "supersized" meal you get in the restaurants who attempt to convince you that what you're eating is "food."

Yeah, I can see how many little dishes can do wonders, and I've never been a fan of the 'uber huge' portion places, but then there is always a place for a nice sized, steaming bowl of paella or other such dish.

I can indeed see the attraction in dining in a place like this, and would love the idea that all decisions are made for me by people who know better as to what drinks and foods go best with each other.

But $240 per head. I had a hard time paying that much for us as a couple a while back, let alone per head.

If I become uber rich and am in the Napa Valley again, I'll definitely go there.

You know... IF I become rich... and just happen to be in California...

That's what you get with Break. While I haven't read every comment on the subject, I think the addition of Break contributes to a general downturn in the quality of the Sift.

However . . . (didn't see that comin' didja?), this was put up for personal reasons in that I think it's at one of the golf courses in the Napa Valley I used to live near AND "ride of the Valkyrie" is the best tag I've ever written. So I now have to go vote whoring, (a la, well, I won't mention her name) and gin up the place.

Whew . . . my life is difficult.
