Pippy, the Jumping Kitty

Boise_Lib says...

Crap! Knocked off the promote by a cat video.
Oh well, I guess I'll watch it--WOW. Look at that cat jump!
Go Pippy, Go. Oh walking on the walls, yeah!
That's cute. I feel much better now.

Upvote.

This isn't sarcasm. This is just how I felt watching this. And--I'm glad I saw it.

Thanks for a fun video--I needed that, Raveni (again not sarcasm)

This snapping turtle can climb fences!

OK people.. For starters, if you have never been around a snapping turtle, especially a 25-30 pound snapping turtle, you need to back off with the hate talk as to why I didnt jump right in and "help" him over the fence. This dude had a neck that comes out nearly a foot at lightening fast speed. His head is the size of a baseball.. Dont let the slow moving body fool you. These things can be NASTY as hell when you mess with them. You just dont walk over and pet it, or try to pick it up. The claws on his feet are razor sharp and about an inch long. Those feet are INCREDIBLY strong. My plan was to relocate him to the Mississippi River after work that day so he wouldnt EAT the newly hatched baby ducks and baby geese on the pond in the background. When I came back an hour or so later, he did finally make it over the fence and is now back into the pond. So far, the ducks and geese are fine. All are still accounted for.
He crawled into this fenced in enclosure sometime during the night, I found him the next morning just crawling along the interior of the fence just looking for a way out. I had NO IDEA these critters scaled fences or anything else for that matter. If you notice, the beginning of the video, how far away I am? I wasnt "waiting" for him to climb.. I just saw it in progress and started recording.. I didnt know he was going to fall either, nor did I make him fall. I just thought this was something super crazy so I recorded it for everybody to see. In a matter of 2 weeks, it has been seen nearly 60,000 times on YouTube.
I love animals just as much as anybody else and would never do anything to harm this turtle. So please knock off the "Prick" and the "WTF".. The turtle is very happy where he's at and Im sure will be there a long time..
Thanks,
Todd

welcome to Sift
No need to be defensive about your video. Even though comments might sound harsh, they are not so much comments on you but more for other Sifter's humor.
Right now your video is ranked #17. With a few more votes it'll get bumped to top 15 and then it'll get a lot more exposure. Not many people have the honor/luck of getting up there.

All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace - 2nd Episode

Deano says...

I'm starting to find Curtis' shtick a bit tedious now. It certainly worked with The Power of Nightmares but he keeps trying to repeat the same formula. With this episode I genuinely wondered what on earth his point was, something that he doesn't really get around to making (I knocked off after around 30 minutes).

His programs seems geared to exposing some sort of conspiracy each one rooted in some core ideology espoused by some guy we've never heard of before. Each time it sounds a little less convincing no matter how measured and reassuring his tones are.

TEDxCopenhagen - Why We Shouldn't Bike with a Helmet

moodonia says...

It was going to Australia that forced me to start wearing a cycle helmet, I never would have here where its not mandatory. Ten years later and I wont get on the bike without one, just feel naked without it, besides at this point the day I leave it home is the day I get knocked off.

Cycling is dangerous where I live, I have my helmet and yellow "condom" but still seem to be invisible, to the extent that I now mount a little HD camera on my bars to document the craziness that happens going to and from work.

mmm.....body paint is so last decade. The new tron is all about the leather and rubber body suits... and no cheesy lighting tricks. The outfits actually had lights in them. Bring THAT to a tron porno shoot, not this cheap knock off stuff

I assume you can't paint worth a damn?

Bear Grylls: Balls of Steel

BoneRemake says...

Oh man, oh man oh man oh man. I am not overtly negative tonight but this ending, the entire clip really; but the ending was horrible. Oh yea as if in the worst case scenario they WAITED for a train to be coming then walked in to get the shot. Like holy all hell fuck that was not fabricated.

I say this in the knowledge the show presents itself as presentably factual. To my knowledge this guy is a knock off of Survivor man.

Rock n' Rule Trailer

Skeeve says...

I remember watching this on TV when I was younger, thinking it was just a knock-off of Heavy Metal. It's actually not bad though. Unfortunately, due to it's weird release history it can be hard to find (even harder before 2005 when a DVD was finally released).

Weird fact: According to the commentary on the DVD release, the effects for the demon in the movie's final sequence were produced by smearing cow brains over one plane of a slit scan multiplane camera.

Cop Kicks BP Protestor off Bike, then Arrests Cameraman

I knew I should've kept googling, not only fired, but charged with assault and falsifying reports. For whatever reason, the jury found him not guilty on assault, but guilty of falsifying reports, which can lead to up to 4 years in prison.
Another article I saw said the NYPD had given the kid knocked off the bike a settlement of $65,000.

That's the best news I've heard all week. I hope that fucking cunt goes to prison and gets what's coming to him. And that the fucking cunt in this video will join him before too long.

Sounds like a pretty good incentive for these cops and their superiors not to let stuff like this happen. I'm glad that this was taken care of in this fashion.

It's tacky. Definitely not art.

Not to get into a pissing match with you, but it is art. I see a representation of color, form, contrast, use of space, etc. used to provoke a thought or feeling.
You may not like it, tacky as it may be to you. I don't care for graffiti, but it's art, nonetheless. So is this.

Well, I suppose you are right, in that you can argue that anything that calls itself art is art. But I still find this tacky and condescending. It's obviously trying to go for a French New Wave sort of vibe, but in the clunkiest way imaginable. I don't think it has any more artistic merit than something like that Seinfeld porn knock-off someone made a while back, but that's just my opinion.
