It's not just about the safety of the band, or the price of the gear, it's also about the safety of the fan. Some bands are cool with it, that's their business, but as the other poster noted, it's their place of work and quite a few of us wouldn't allow randoms to just wander in to our place of work unchallenged.

That being said, the security should have been on top of that before it happened. While it makes a cool anecdote and video clip, the star of the show shouldn't have to arrest a loose fan on the stage...

Hetfield is a great guitarist. He doesn't play solos or super technical parts, but he's great at what he does and he plays with real feel.

Also he has a cyborg right arm.... the man can downpick like nobodies business

I didn't like the singer. His emotions didn't carry any weight unlike james hetfield.

When I was a teenager, I was hanging out in the guitar shop my mate worked in. We were playing War Pigs (Sabbath version) on the stereo and this dude comes in and says "wow, Mike Pattons voice sounds really weird"

OK, is it just me but in a couple of shots doesn't Hetfield look like Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal?
Good Tune, but the vid annoys me, The exact problem I have with so many other videos.

James Hetfield? Cause that would have been awesome if he came out towards the end and played with them.

Thought the solo was kinna cheesed as well. Also would add that there are more than a few of the ensemble lacking that spark of soul to render the passion and depth of the piece, there could be a future Hetfield in the mix and if you check it, it's probably the one or two who have their feet planted firmly in some real blues.

I lost all respect for that Hetfield guy when I watched Metallica's Some Kind Of Monster and listened to him whine like a bitch about the other guys practicing "his" song when he wasn't there. What a douchebag.

James Hetfield sure has let himself go.

Oh this is hilarious. Fake or no, they deserve it after the dismal VH1 special they did a couple a years ago.
Hetfield turned into a whiny boy that couldn't work more than 4 hours a day so his feelings wouldn't get hurt. I can't believe how the band put up w/ it.
