Massive breach of procedure. We were taught in concealed carry school that the only person that should touch our concealed weapon in a police situation is the police. You keep your hands visible and NEVER touch the gun, even if the cops tell you to.

The ones that fired should be kicked off the force and banned from law enforcement. They should also get charged for his death and go to jail. This is just as bad as the cop that shot the drunk guy because they had him knee walking towards them and his pants were falling down. Guy reached to pull up his pants and got AR-15'ed to death.

I'm pretty sure the vinyl itself has nothing on it. It's all digitized and stored in a module. The "Phase" device is just a very accurate, low-latency angular-position transducer for controlling the module.

So... why not just read the position directly from a special turntable (like the other digital sets they sell)? I dunno, I guess these let you use your favorite Technics turntables from 1989 that have just the right feel or whatever.

I don't know this, I'm just basing it on the evidence that there is clearly no stylus dragging across the record, so the sound can't be coming from there.

Meh, I buy it. He has to work within the limits of the tensioner, and how to get the velocity across the head reasonable and consistent seems like a hard problem to solve. I think there's probably more going on than just hooking some reel-to-reels up to a mixer, and it would be very interesting to know how he does it. Neat, though.

I saw an op-ed in the nytimes back when the supreme court nomination was hot and had hoped the author's opinion were a minority. Segments of this Daily Show clip and your own feedback make rethink that. The op-ed wanted to concisely show how dangerously right wing and extremist current Justice Roberts was. To do this, the author stated that the Justice own chilling rationale for one of his decisions should tell us everything we need to know about him: "To stop discrimination based upon race, we need to stop discriminating based upon race"

Being insulting and dismissive of people's frustrations at being racially discriminated against as your post appears to do just makes for more division still.

It was nothing more than Obama's political pledge. with no legal standing and Trump back ed out of it.
